Abstract/Citation: Provides for, inter alia, the establishment of a National Commission for Women. The purpose of the Commission is to promote the welfare of women in general; to carry out the aims and objectives of the Better Life Programme for Rural Women, which include stimulating and motivating rural women towards achieving better living standards and sensitising the rest of the Nigerian population to the problems of women; to promote the welfare of the child; to promote responsible motherhood and the maternal health of women; and to stimulate activities to improve women's civic, political, cultural, social and economic education.
