Second Region

The Part IX regulations prescribe worker safety in confined spaces. These amendments include, as additional provisions, a requirement for consultation with the safety and health committees or representatives in the development of safety entry procedures, a requirement to conduct an initial hazard assessment prior to developing entry procedures, specific provisions for "hot work" and a requirement for the distribution and retention of records of hazard assessments and entry procedures.
