Second Region

This Act provides that a condition for gainful employment for a foreigner (as well as a Commonwealth citizen) is to have a work permit, which shall always be presentable upon request. Offences against the Act are criminally sanctioned. An application for a work permit may be granted at the absolute discretion of the Minister and a granted work permit may - in writing - be changed or cancelled at any time. The Minister may also grant general or group exemptions from the applicability of the Act.
