Abstract/Citation
The Agreement is set out as the Schedule to the Australian Social Security (Reciprocity with New Zealand) Regulations, Statutory Rules 1986, No. 293, of 13 Oct. 1986. The citizens of each of the Contracting Parties are to be treated equally in the application of the social security laws of the two States (art. 4). The Agreement contains provisions regarding residence, various benefits and other matters. It will enter into force upon an exchange of notes, at which time the agreement of 15 Apr. 1949 on the same subject shall terminate except in respect to benefits paid thereunder (art. 24).
