Abstract/Citation: | The Act purports to be comprehensive legislation for the regulation and control of apprentices in all of the trades. It provides for the qualification of apprentices and the contract for apprenticeship. It requires that employers make suitable arrangement for their training; provide for their health, safety and welfare, pay compensation under the Workmen's Compensation Act, etc. At the conclusion of the term of apprenticeship, the Act stipulates that the National Council test the apprentice to determine proficiency in the designated trade. The minimum age for an apprentice is fourteen years old. Amended text. |
