Second Region

Purposes of the Act: to ensure the protection of the rights of mentally ill individuals and to assist States in establishing and operating a protection and advocacy system for them. Title I addresses the establishment of such systems. Title II is a restatement of the Bill of Rights for Mental Health Patients as previously stated in the Mental Health System Act. Titles III and IV cover interpretation and family support groups for Alzheimer's disease patients, respectively.
