Abstract/Citation: Covers recruitment of local manpower and of foreign technicians where local skills are not available, employment contracts, collective agreements, working time, leave, rest, wages, social insurance, employment accidents, occupational diseases and occupational safety, environmental protection, trade union rights, labour inspection and labour disputes. Foreign agencies, enterprises and companies already established are required to bring the conditions of employment of their Vietnamese workers into conformity with the Statute within three months of its promulgation. Guide-lines on the implementation of the Statute were made on 26 May 1990, together with a standard employment contract model.
