Abstract/Citation: The Ordinance supplements the Employment Ordinance 1968 with a new Part VB and two schedules, providing for long service payments on separation. The amount of the payment depends on the worker's age and length of service. For example, an employee over 40 years of age who has been employed on a continuous basis for five to ten years will be entitled to compensation equivalent to two-thirds of his or her last monthly wage; such compensation will be payable only to persons who are not otherwise eligible for severance pay. The Ordinance of 1968 was published in the Legislative Series (LS 1968 - H.K. 1, 1970 - H.K. 1).
