Abstract/Citation: The National Commission for the Implementation of International Humanitarian Lawو is established in Jordan, It possesses legal personality and administrative independence.
The commission determines the general policy and national strategy approving plans and programmes for raising awareness of the principles of IHL at national level. Moreover, the Commission is tasked with exchanging information and expertise with national, Arab, regional and international organizations and commissions concerned with IHL and strengthening ties with them.
The Law reads that the Commission is composed by representatives of the Prime minister, the Ministries of Defense, Justice, Foreign Affairs, Interior, Education, Health, the House of representative, the Senate, the President of the Jordanian Red Crescent, as well as 4 experts appointed by the chairman.
