Abstract/Citation: This Act applies to the County of Trans-Nzoia, in the Province of the Rift Valley, one of the 47 counties established in 2013 following the adoption of the Constitution. It provides for the establishment, functions, powers and responsibilities of the Trans Nzoia County Youth, and Women Development Fund and for measure enabling access to employment by women and youth. "Youth" means any Kenyan citizen who has attained the age of eighteen but has not exceeded the age of thirty five years. In the performance of the functions and exercise of powers under this Act, the Fund shall be guided by the values and principles set out in Articles 10, 201 and 232 of the Constitution. The Fund shall be a body corporate and shall be managed by a Board. There shall be a committee at the Ward level known as Youth and Women Ward Committee. The Executive Member for Gender, Youth, Culture, Sports and Tourism may make Regulations for better performance of the functions of the management committee and of the board, and for giving full effect to this Act.
