Travel Smart - Work Smart: Pre-departure Manual for Nauru Seasonal Workers in Australia
The 'Pre-departure manual for Nauru seasonal workers in Australia' was developed as part of the ILO project to 'Strengthen Labour Migration Management in Papua New Guinea and Nauru in the context of the Australian Seasonal Worker Program', funded by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. It draws on other training materials developed in Thailand and Malaysia by the ILO TRIANGLE project, as well as on 'Working and Living in Australia: Pre-departure guidebook for Seasonal Workers'. The booklet provides guidance on income and budgeting - including remittance advice - and information on life in Australia. It also offers job-specific advice for the sectors that employ seasonal workers in Australia, i.e. the horticulture, aquaculture, cane, cotton and accommodation industries.
