  ACUTE HAZARDS PREVENTION FIRE FIGHTING
FIRE & EXPLOSION Gives off irritating or toxic fumes (or gases) in a fire.        In case of fire in the surroundings, use appropriate extinguishing media.   

   
  SYMPTOMS PREVENTION FIRST AID
Inhalation Cough. Sore throat.  Use ventilation, local exhaust or breathing protection.  Fresh air, rest. 
Skin Redness. Pain.  Protective gloves.  Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower. 
Eyes Redness. Pain.  Wear safety spectacles.  First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then refer for medical attention. 
Ingestion Blue lips, fingernails and skin. Diarrhoea. Nausea. Vomiting. Dizziness. Headache.  Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.  Rinse mouth. Refer for medical attention .

Decomposes on heating. This produces toxic gases including nitrogen oxides. Attacks copper and its alloys. The substance is a strong oxidizer when dry and can increase the risk of fire or ignite combustible substances.

The substance can be absorbed into the body by ingestion. 

Effects of short-term exposure
The substance is irritating to the eyes, skin and respiratory tract. Ingestion could cause effects on the blood. This may result in the formation of methaemoglobin. The effects may be delayed. Medical observation is indicated. 

Inhalation risk
No indication can be given about the rate at which a harmful concentration of this substance in the air is reached on evaporation at 20°C.
