PHYSICAL & CHEMICAL INFORMATION

Physical State; Appearance
COLOURLESS OR SLIGHTLY YELLOW FUMING LIQUID WITH PUNGENT ODOUR.

Physical dangers
The vapour is heavier than air.

Chemical dangers
Reacts violently with water and moist air. This produces corrosive hydrogen chloride (see ICSC 0163). Reacts with turpentine, alcohols and amines. This generates fire and explosion hazard. Attacks many metals, some forms of plastic, rubber and coatings.
