Contents of this guidance note: background and objectives of the occupational safety report (evolution of, and hazards in, the chemical industry; government activity regarding disaster control); legislation on disaster control in the Netherlands, Federal Republic of Germany, France, United Kingdom, European Communities; quantities of combustible, flammable, toxic and explosive substances subject to notification; compilation of the safety report (description of processing plant and substances processed; description of process; description of foreseeable hazards and of the measures taken to control them; description of disaster control organisation); evaluation of the report. Appended are: list of relevant Labour Inspectorate publications; texts of relevant Netherlands regulations (Act of 23 Nov. 1977; Decrees of 12 Aug. and 30 Dec. 1981). The relevant Netherlands Decrees have been repealed.
