Farmworker protective laws: A guide for farmworkers in the United States and Puerto Rico [USA]
This publication is a compendium of the terms, and not of the complete text, of US federal and state laws (as well as of laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico) aimed at the protection of farmworkers. Under the discussion of each law there are generally special notes on enforcement and other matters. At the federal level, the relevant laws on OSH are: the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 (see also CIS 89-351), related regulations on Field sanitation and Anhydrous ammonia, the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act, and the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act. Laws in each of the 50 states and in Puerto Rico are classified under several sections, including Health and Safety and Pesticides and Agricultural Chemicals. In annex: address and telephone listings of organisations, by state, able to provide legal assistance to farmworkers.

Regulations relating to labour matters by the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, the Pension and Welfare Benefits Administration of the Department of Labor, the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation and the Federal Mine Safety and Health Review Commission are also given.
