This standard (effective 1 Jan. 1989) establishes general sanitary and hygienic requirements for microclimate parameters and maximum allowable concentrations of substances in workplace air, regardless of the workplace location (industrial premises, underground workings, open-air sites, vehicles, etc.). The standard also lays down general requirements for methods of measuring and monitoring microclimate and toxic substance levels. Contents: optimum and limit values of work-room microclimate parameters; microclimate parameter measuring and monitoring requirements; maximum allowable concentrations (MAC) of toxic substances in workplace air and their monitoring. In appendices: terms and definitions; MAC list; index of substance synonyms, technical and trade names.
