Working environment information for immigrants
Arbetsmiljöinformation till invandrare [en sueco]
Advice for companies employing foreign workers. As newly immigrated workers generally find it difficult to understand how to use workplace equipment correctly and safely, they should be informed and trained not only by verbal and written instructions, but also with the aid of graphic representations, photographs and diagrammatic drawings. In plants where there are large numbers of foreign workers, the safety delegate should speak their language. In certain cases an interpreter should be hired. A number of important rules are set forth (elaboration of OSH information in the workers' languages, making sure that the worker understands the safety rules and knows his rights and duties, etc.). A check list for those who elaborate OSH information is appended.
