This standard (effective 1 Jan. 1990) applies to all crawler-type tractors designed to be fitted with bulldozer blades or other tools. It specifies methods for ergonomic evaluation of the means of getting on and off the tractor, of the operator's seat, controls and cab; for determining that the operator's field of vision and the areas illuminated by the tractor's lights meet the quantitative criteria listed in companion standard GOST 12.2.121-88 (CIS 90-1092); for determining that cabs provide adequate roll-over protection and protection against falling objects; for evaluating the noise, vibration and microclimatic conditions inside the cab; for verifying that subassemblies meet relevant safety criteria; for determining the stability of tractors.

This standard (effective 1 Jan. 1990) corresponds to international standards ISO 2860-83, ISO 2867-80, ISO 3164-79, ISO 3457-79 and ISO 5353-78. It applies to all crawler-type tractors designed to be fitted with bulldozer blades or other tools. It provides that the operator have safe means of getting onto and off of the tractor, that the operator's field of vision and the areas illuminated by the tractor's lights meet the quantitative criteria listed in appendices, that tractors be provided with cabins, that various components and subassemblies of tractors meet relevant safety criteria, that tractors themselves maintain their stability at tilt angles no less than 40° and that they be provided with clearly marked points for the attachment of towing or lifting cables.

Contents: general requirements, access to the driver's seat, visibility, lights, cabs and seats, controls and instrumentation, accessories, assembly, transportation and garaging.
