Maataloustraktoreiden koetusohjelma [in Finnish]
The test methods for the mandatory type approval according to the safety regulations for tractors (CIS 88-1778) are described. Testing of cab roof and safety frame strength, measurement of noise, vibration, heating device, defroster, visibility and strength of hitch hook is done by VAKOLA (State Research Institute of Engineering in Agriculture and Forestry). Order relating to compliance tests and inspection of electrical equipment
Beslut om förhandsbesiktning och övervakning av elmateriel [in Swedish]
This order (effective: 1 July 1984) prescribes that all electrical equipment sold in or imported into Finland must be compliance tested and approved by the Finnish Electrical Equipment Inspection Centre.

Law on the Technical Inspection Centre
Lag om tekniska kontrollcentralen [in Swedish]
This law (entry into force: 1 Feb. 1984) repeals and replaces the law of 7 Feb. 1975 on technical inspection. It defines the tasks of the new centre (inspection of pressure vessels, dangerous substances and products, firearms and explosives, testing and monitoring), its administration, its services and powers.

CIS 82-2 Council of State Decree on mobile cranes and their inspection

Statsrådets beslut om mobilkranar och besiktning av dem [in Swedish]
This Decree (effective: 1 Sep. 1982) applies to self-propelled or towed, wheeled or crawler-mounted cranes. Individual sections are devoted to: general rules for manufacturers, importers and retailers of mobile cranes; definitions; solidity and stability; driver's cabin (layout, visibility, ease of access, controls, sound insulation); brakes and interlock devices; safety devices (travel limiting devices, load moment indicators); winch and pulley safety; compliance with national standards; type testing; inspection; checks after repair and maintenance; operating instructions; operating safety; driver (qualifications, minimum age: 18 years). CIS has only the Swedish-language version.

This circular makes provision for mandatory annual inspections of access ramps and platforms on car ferries and roll-on-roll-off ships. This equipment must be designed to offer maximum safety and stability for vehicles using it, or being lifted or lowered by it. The circular specifies safety factors for all supporting elements (including wire ropes), maximum operational loads and testing loads.

CIS 74-5 Order of the Council of State under the Safety and Health Act regarding work with tower cranes and their inspection
Statsrådets beslut innefattande bestämmelser om tillämpning av lagen om skydd i arbete på tornkranar samt på inspektion av tornkranar [in Swedish]
Manufacturers, importers and vendors must ensure that tower cranes and their equipment comply with the provisions of the Finnish Safety and Health Act of 28 June 1958. Tower cranes must not be used unless they have been duly inspected; they must be of a type approved by the Finnish Technical Research Centre. Revisions have to be carried out at intervals of 24 months or less.
