Información bibliográfica Cambridge University Press, The Pitt Building, Trumpington Street, Cambridge CB2 1RP, United Kingdom, 1993. xv, 98p. Bibl.ref.
Resumen These monographs summarize and assess the clinical use, mode of action and efficacy of naloxone, flumazenil and dantrolene sodium as antidotes in the treatment of poisoning. Naloxone is used to reverse opiate poisoning and there are unproven reports that it may also reverse the effects of ethanol and benzodiazepine (BZD) poisoning. Flumazenil has been shown to reverse the sedative, anti-convulsant and muscle-relaxant effects of BZD. Dantrolene sodium is used in the treatment of drug-induced hypercatabolic syndromes. This first volume of the series includes an introduction to the series and a provisional list of forthcoming volumes; appendices include a list of antidotes and principles for the evaluation of antidotes.
