Regulations implementing in Great Britain the provisions of EEC Directives No. 76/769/EEC and 83/477/EEC (see CIS 84-327) relating to asbestos. Contents: interpretation (Control limits: when crocidolite or amosite is present - 0.2 fibres/mL of air for 4h and 0.6f/mL for 10 min exposures; for other kinds of asbestos - 0.5f/mL for 4h and 1.5f/mL for 10 min exposures. Action level: when crocidolite or amosite is present - 48 fibres-hours/mL air; otherwise - 120f/mL); duties of employers; identification of type of asbestos; hazard evaluation; notification of work with asbestos; information, instruction and training; prevention or reduction of exposure; control measures; provision and cleaning of protective clothing; cleanliness of premises and plant; designated areas; air monitoring; health records and medical surveillance; washing and changing facilities; storage, distribution and labelling of asbestos; supply of products containing asbestos; exemption certificates. |
