Título Reading from microfiche, a VDT, and the printed page: subjective fatigue and performance
Información bibliográfica Feb. 1986, Vol.28, No.1, p.63-73. 28 ref.
Resumen Subjects read continuous text for 80min. Visual fatigue was greater when subjects read from negative microfiche (light characters, dark background) projected on a metal screen or from the screen of a video display terminal (VDT) with positive-appearing images (dark characters, light background), than when they read from print. When they read from microfiche projected on a high-reflectance matte screen or from the screen of a VDT with negative images, visual fatigue was not significantly greater than that reported for printed material. Reading speeds tended to be slower for the negative image conditions, but reading comprehension scores were similar for all conditions.
