Abstract Swiss law specifies that the employer has to provide personal protective equipment, with the exception of shoes, for which the employer is required to pay at least half the cost. Aimed at employers in the forestry sector, this booklet lists the costs of new equipment for new hires, as well as the annual replacement costs of the equipment based on their average lifetime. The following protective equipment is considered: helmets with built-in earmuffs, face shields and neck protection; ear muffs; jackets; trousers; gloves; boots; weatherproof coats.
