Title Fatal injuries in farming, forestry and horticulture 2000-2001

Abstract This is a report on the 53 reportable fatal injuries that occurred in the agricultural sector (comprising farming, forestry, horticulture and associated industries) in the United Kingdom from April 2000 to March 2001. Statistical data are given by region, by main activity in the agricultural sector and by accident cause. Short descriptions of each fatal accident are provided. An analysis of the trend of fatal injuries for the period 1995/96 to 2000/01 and case studies showing what went wrong and how the accident could have been avoided are presented.
