Abstract Chemical safety information sheet. Update of data sheet already summarized in CIS 77-1360. Toxicity: at high doses, severe poisoning with damage of the kidneys, nervous system and cardiovascular system; pulmonary fibrosis (inhalation); eczemas; irritative pulmonary disorders. Chronic toxicity: carcinogen; skin and nasal septum ulcers; renal damage (ingestion). Exposure limits for cobalt smoke in air (USA): TWA = 0.05mg/m3 (ACGIH, 1991).
