Abstract This document describes the results of a three-year research project on dermal exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) among occupationally exposed workers. It contains several publications on this topic. The outcome of this research is that the most of the pyrene burden of workers occupationally exposed to PAHs occurs through dermal exposure and not through inhalation. This conclusion seems also valid for benzo(a)pyrene and other PAHs with five benzenoid rings or fewer. Summaries in French, German and Italian.
