Abstract This edition of the US National Electrical Code Handbook is based on the new edition of NFPA 70 (the Code itself). The purpose of the Handbook is to explain code requirements, especially changes to the code since the previous edition. It also serves as a helpful guide in applying code provisions. The complete text of the code can be found in the Handbook, together with explanations and commentary (code intent and interpretation, historical perspective, application of requirements, illustrations and tables). Contents: definitions and requirements for electrical installations; wiring and protection; wiring methods and materials; equipment for general use; special occupancies (buildings); special equipment; special conditions; communications systems.
