Abstract This Approved Code of Practice gives practical guidance on certain sections of the Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 (CIS 74-2099) and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1994 (COSHH) (CIS 95-19) as regards risks from legionellosis. It does not address technical aspects of controlling the risk. Contents: definition of legionellosis and sources of the bacteria; identification and assessment of risk; preventing or minimizing the risk of exposure to legionella; management and the selection, training and competence of personnel; record keeping; responsibilities of designers, manufacturers, importers, suppliers and installers. Replaces previous edition (CIS 91-2074).
