Abstract This revised guidance note (see CIS 88-618 for original) advises on the selection of suitable test probes, leads, lamps, voltage indicating devices and other measuring equipment and their use by electricians when working on or investigating power circuits. Risks associated with work on or near live conductors are described along with the causes of electrical accidents and the safety requirements for this type of test equipment.
