Title Major hazard aspects of the transport of dangerous substances - A study of the present situation in Great Britain
Bibliographic information Oct. 1991, No.101, p.9-12. 4 ref.
Abstract This article provides an outline of the scope and nature of a study carried out by the Advisory Committee on Dangerous Substances aimed at evaluating the risks involved in the transport of certain dangerous substances. The study was initially limited to those substances and aspects of transport considered to be the most likely to give rise to significant risks (road and rail transport of bulk toxic and flammable substances, road and rail transport of explosives, and handling of bulk quantities of non-explosive substances in ports). The risks have been sufficiently evaluated for conclusions to be drawn, in the forthcoming report, concerning the national situation.
