Abstract This Code of Practice is a revision of the 1988 edition (CIS 88-1721). It covers: classification of substances, choice of hazard warning sign and labelling for the purposes of the Classification, Packaging and Labelling (CPL) Regulations and the Road Tanker Regulations; classification of substances, determination of packing groups and temperature control requirements for the purposes of the Road Traffic (Carriage of Dangerous Substances in Packages etc) (PG) Regulations; criteria for classification of various types of gases, liquids and solids; criteria for determining precedence of classification and hazard warning sign under the CPL Regulations.
