Abstract This publication presents an overview of how technology assessment methodologies that were developed in industrialised countries can be applied to address priority health concerns in developing countries and what problems may hinder these assessments. It illustrates the most important methodologies and their advantages and disadvantages. Training for personnel who perform technology assessments is also considered.
