Abstract |
A personal exposure meter that samples and stores the strength of a 50Hz electric and magnetic field every 15 seconds was designed and evaluated. Readings of the electric field to which workers were exposed during different work tasks in a switchyard had a good correlation with the current that was induced in the human body. The deviation was usually less than 30%. The magnetic field could be analysed in 3 orthogonal directions with respect to the wearer's body or regardless of incidence direction. In the latter case the readings were shown to be, on the average, strongly correlated with the maximum component of the fields. |
