| Abstract |
This ordinance (effective 1 January 1991) applies to all types of lifts except mine lifts, construction hoists, lifts on ships and some others. References are made to two Swedish Standards, SS 2097 part I (Electrical lifts) and part 2 (Hydraulic lifts). These standards are based on European Standards EN 81-1 and EN 81-2. The previous Lift Code (Anvisning No.92, CIS 74-1204) is revoked. In the ordinance, the highly detailed stipulations on design, quality and equipment found in the old Standard have been replaced to a great extent by functional requirements, leaving a wider choice of methods for complying with the requirements.
