Title Productivity on a weekly rotating, shift system: circadian adjustment and sleep deprivation effects?
Bibliographic information Dec. 1986, Vol.29, No.12, p.1583-1590. Illus. 13 ref.
Abstract The productivity of 53 female workers and sleeping habits of 30 of them from an electronics component factory were studied. The circadian adjustment to night work appears to be the dominant factor in increased productivity for the first 3 or 4 successive night shifts, then sleep deprivation results in a decrease of productivity. Sleep deprivation may also affect productivity during the morning shift.
