Title Bladder cancer and occupational exposure to leather
Bibliographic information Feb. 1986, Vol.43, No.2, p.96-100. 17 ref.
Abstract A case-control study of 2982 cases of bladder cancer and 5782 controls in the USA showed an odds ratio of 1.4 (95% confidence limits: 1.0, 1.9) after adjustment for sex, age and cigarette smoking. The risk was highest among those first employed in a job involving exposure to leather before 1945. No dose-response relationship was found. Those employed in "dusty" leather jobs had a slightly higher risk of bladder cancer than those with other types of exposure to leather.
