Abstract |
When two welders use different power supplies (one AC, one DC), or when two power supplies of the same type are connected in opposite polarity, the use of a common ground by the two welders yields a voltage between the two electrodes that is twice the voltage between either electrode and the workpiece; the voltage can be as much as 180V. Where two or more welders are at work on a project that provides a common ground, special instruction and inspection should be provided to make sure that all power supplies are of the same type and are connected with the same polarity. |
