Abstract |
2 case studies of electrical engineers with pacemakers, who experienced pacemaker dysfunction (competitive rhythm in one case, inappropriately slow pacing in the other) when working near high-voltage electric lines (range 132-400kV). A protective suit that would prevent this kind of electromagnetic interference is described. In addition, there is a recent report of improved circuitry in pacemakers, which would lead to an electronic elimination of the interference. |
