| Abstract |
Introduction summarising the conditions and results of previous investigations (effects of electric charge on nearby installations and on the human body). Description of apparatus used to take aerosol samples, instruments for measuring electric charges and plants visited (iron and steel industry, foundries, kaolin and quartz production, a sugar refinery), and analysis of results of measures taken. Possible influence of the electric charge or field on production processes can be discounted, but a possibility of biological effect is envisaged. Proposed occupational health measures: better air conditioning; counteracting the positive charge by small negative ions. |
