Title Video computer terminals and occupational dermatitis
Bibliographic information Mar. 1981, Vol.7, No.1, p.62-64. 2 ref.
Abstract Case studies have shown that a pricking sensation, itching and dermatitis on the face, after prolonged exposure to video display terminals, are probably due to electrostatic discharge between the skin of the worker and the screen. The effect is more pronounced in some individuals than others. The symptoms were reduced by using carpeting with antistatic qualities, increased air humidity, and grounded water or metal thread screens.
