Abstract Vapours given off during finishing and drying processes in the manufacture of polyurethane soles contain a mixture of organic solvents (ketones, alcohols, hydrocarbons, esters). A recently developed installation for removal and cleaning of the polluted air (consisting of an adsorption filter, a desorption-condensate separator and a cyclone furnace to burn the desorbed mixture) is described.
