Abstract MS thesis. 111 spray painters and 100 controls in 31 car body workshops were examined. Skin and gastric symptoms were commoner among the painters. "Dynamic" spirometric values were slightly lower in the painters, after correction for smoking and sport. Within the painter group, digestive disorders and respiratory symptoms were more common as overall exposure to paint products increased; this correlation was not seen with respect to spirometric findings.
