Title The use of case studies in hazard workshops.
Bibliographic information Sep. 1978, Vol.1, No.1, p.41-42, 46. Illus.
Abstract Case study, with question/answer presentation for use at a training hazard workshop, of a worker badly burned by hot, aqueous caustic liquor when a hose burst when he was closing a valve. The case is offered as a useful example for training seminars. Rescue methods, inadequacy of personal protective clothing, keeping defective hoses in use, steam pressure of 7bar in the system, behaviour of rubber at temperatures over 160°C, and immediate availability of washing and showering facilities are discussed.
