Abstract The first brochure describes and illustrates a scheme for marking tank vehicles in road and rail transport with the information needed for immediate action in case of a traffic incident. The colours, sizes and places for the Hazchem code, UN number, specialist advice, warning diamond and manufacturer's name are shown in examples. The companion Hazchem codings booklet lists names and code, Tremcard volume and number, ADR class number, Kemler number, and UN label information for about 300 substances. The 2 UN Numbers booklets (in alphabetical and numerical orders) list the substances and give the UN class, division or subdivision.
