Abstract Recommendations prepared by the U.N. Committee of Experts on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, addressed to governments and international organisations concerned with the regulation of the transport of dangerous goods. Classificaton and definitions of classes, listing of the principal dangerous goods, rules for packing and labelling, and shipping papers. The recommendations do not apply to dangerous goods in bulk which, in most countries, are subject to a special system of regulations. Individual chapters are devoted to: list of dangerous goods (U.N. number, designation, class and division, hazards, packing recommendations); explosives; methods of determining flash point; toxic substances; classification of pesticides; percentage of active substances for each group of pesticides; flammable liquids; hazardous chemicals; types of recommended packages, carboys, drums, etc. The classifications are present in tabular form. The Spanish and Russian texts of the recommendations are in preparation.
