Abstract |
Results of a study of 1,404 accident and injury reports for 1972 and 1973 are tabulated: type of accident, material cause, part of body injured. More than 96% of all electrical accidents resulted from electric arcs, electrically generated heat, and electrocution and shock. Cables and trolleys were the greatest cause of electric arcs and burns. A further aspect treated is that of mine fires caused by electrical sources. Some technical safety measures and special training are recommended for the prevention of this type of accident. |
