Title Keratitis on exposure to dimethyl phosphorochloridothionate (DMPCT).
Bibliographic information May 1975, Vol.17, No.5, p.335-336. 2 ref.
Abstract DMPCT is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of several insecticides and other compounds. Case histories of 6 exposed workers with corneal injuries (the authors had found none in the literature) are given. All had severe eye irritation and swelling of the eyelids. DMPCT vapours do not cause immediate discomfort (latent period of symptoms 4-12h). Punctate keratitis was revealed only at slit lamp examination. There was no lung involvement. All patients recovered completely without loss of visual acuity.
