Abstract |
Study of working conditions of bindery assistants checking and sorting high-quality paper, who constitute almost one-third of the labour force of a highly mechanised industry: visual tasks of great precision, manual work characterised by very many multifarious small movements with the fingers of both hands, extreme demands on the neuromuscular system. Physiological and ergonomic examinations performed on a large number of bindery assistants showed that muscualr strength, endurance, working capacity and the bioelectric activity of the muscles involved diminish during the workshift. Improvements proposed: air conditioning, higher illumination level, sound damping shields, functional furniture. |
