| Abstract |
The author reviews the different means of preventing contact between power shovels and trolley wires in opencast mines served by railway connections, and of limiting the consequences of such contact. After weighing the advantages and disadvantages of these means, he gives preference to frequency multiplier protection and input of an alternating current of 150Hz into the network, a solution suitable for mass production of the requisite frequency multipliers. |
