Title Relationship between hypertension and prolonged exposure to heat.
Bibliographic information Nov. 1973, Vol.15, No.11, p.878-880. Illus. 3 ref.
Abstract A preliminary study of employees at a metallurgical plant in Brazil revealed that hypertension is strikingly frequent among workers exposed to high levels of heat, unrelated to age, race and salt ingestion factors but related to duration of exposure. The mechanisms responsible for heat-induced hypertension are unknown and require further investigation.
